City buys access road to E.L. Soccer Complex

EAST LANSING -The city on Tuesday opened a new paved access route into the East Lansing Soccer Complex.

The city bought the road, which was built by Atlantis Development. The firm owns neighboring Village at Chandler Crossings apartment complex at Chandler and Coleman roads.

The road replaces an unpaved and minimally marked access road. It improves safety and allows vehicles to enter and leave the complex parking area from Coleman Road, City Manager Ted Staton said.

The city paid fair market value for the road and saved thousands of dollars it would have cost to reconstruct the existing road, officials said.
